City of Combine

Minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
TCOLE certified Peace Officer.
Valid Driver's License without restriction except "A". Must have Texas Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
Citizen of the United States, 21 years of age, clear driving record.
No felony convictions.  No convictions class “B” or above in the previous 10 years.

Process:
Application for employment
Applicants will complete and submit an initial application for employment.

Minimum requirements screening
Candidates will be screened to ensure that they meet the minimum hiring requirements.

Personal History Packet
Candidates will be given a Personal History packet. This must be completed and returned by the specified date. All information will be confirmed. Omissions or falsifications are grounds for rejection. 

Background Investigation
The Background Investigator will conduct a thorough background investigation. All information will be confirmed. Omissions or falsifications are grounds for rejection.

Interview with Chief of Police
Candidates may be interviewed for the position of Police Officer by the Chief of Police. Suitable candidates will be recommended to the Police Chief. Depending on the number of positions to be filled, suitable candidates may be given a conditional offer of employment. This offer is conditional upon passing the drug screen, medical, psychological examination.

Psychological Evaluation
Each candidate must pass an evaluation by a licensed psychologist.

Medical Examination, including drug screen
Prior to being hired, each candidate is required to undergo a thorough medical examination provided by the City of Combine. This examination will include testing for drug dependency or illegal drug use. Candidates will be given a vision examination at no cost to the applicant. This examination is to ensure all applicants meet the vision requirements.
